Folding Clasp

Since the early 2000s, Audemars Piguet has been closely associated with the Royal Oak models, launched in 1972 and designed by the famous Gérald Genta. Founded in 1875, and despite the relatively recent history of this iconic model, Audemars Piguet has produced many other watches, and its reputation is still linked to the high quality of its timepieces and movements.

The Royal Oak represents the sporty range, while the classic line was embodied by the Edward Piguet and Jules Audemars collections, in tribute to the founders. These collections and this line were discontinued around 2010 before being relaunched with the Code 11.59 collection in 2019.

The main feature of the Edward Piguet line is its rectangular case and high-quality finish. The model presented here features one of the most prestigious horological complications: the tourbillon. This mechanism, invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1795, aims to improve the precision of the watch by compensating for the effects of gravity on the escapement, the watch's regulator. The tourbillon consists of a rotating cage that performs a complete rotation on itself in one minute, exposing the escapement to a variety of positions, thus reducing the running errors due to gravity in different orientations.

The "Soleil Inca" guilloché silver dial features Breguet numerals and applied hour-markers, with an opening at 6 o'clock offering a view of the tourbillon operation. The white gold case features an open back on the caliber 2881, offering a 70-hour power reserve. 

This top-quality model is aimed at discerning collectors in search of a timepiece representing the quintessence of traditional watchmaking.
