Patek Philippe

Introduced in 1932 with the reference 96, the Calatrava collection is Patek Philippe's oldest and considered by many to be the most elegant and timeless watches ever created.

Reference 5212A was launched in 2019 and introduces a new function never before seen in the collection: the week number indication, accompanied by the day and date.

 Its vintage allure, accentuated by an opaline silver dial and unique handwritten typography inspired by the handwriting of one of the company's designers, reinforces its singular character.
 
The 40 mm steel case, with stepped “double step” lugs, harks back to the historic 1955 reference 2512 while asserting a more contemporary style.

The watch is sold as a full set with box, outer-box, Patek Philippe certificate of origin, manuals and Patek Philippe overhaul invoice of 2023.

Introduced in 1932 with ref. 96, the Calatrava collection was designed in the spirit of the Bauhaus aesthetic, emphasizing simplicity, elegance and functionality. It is considered by many to be the most elegant and timeless classic watch ever created, distinguished by sleek dials, elegant hands and balanced cases. 

Introduced in 1970, reference 3588 is little known despite its many assets: ultra-thin automatic movement, symmetrical dial with milled indexes and elegantly designed case.

With its 35mm-diameter white gold case, this model features a rare blue dial for its time. The case is distinguished by a fine bezel alternating polished and circular-brushed finishes, and by short, angular brushed lugs. The dial features a "BEYER" signature, a Patek Philippe retailer historically based in Zurich, Switzerland, and models bearing this double signature are particularly sought-after.

The case-maker's hallmark, clé de Genève no. 1, visible inside the caseback, represents that of Wenger, one of Patek Philippe's favorite case-makers, best known to collectors for making cases of reference [2497](https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-6349740) and [2499](https://onlineonly.christies.com/s/rare-watches-new-york-online/patek-philippe-18k-yellow-gold-perpetual-calendar-chronograph-ref-2499-237/117507).

Another singularity is that this Ellipse is powered by the 28-255 automatic caliber, the same movement that equips the Nautilus 3700, underscoring its durability and which was one of the finest calibers of its time.

The icing on the cake is that the watch is available with its original box and over-box, its original Patek Philippe certificate dated 1972 and the purchase invoice.

Introduced in 1968, the Ellipse owes its design to no coincidence, since it is based on the golden ratio, considered the “divine proportion” found in nature and in the greatest works of architecture and art.

Initially manufactured by dial-maker Singer for Patek Philippe, the bronze-colored dial varies according to the light and features a soleillée finish. This color blends perfectly with the rose gold of the case, creating a contrast that is both extremely simple and striking.

Our example is fitted with an MK4 dial, recognizable by the domed hour-markers and hands and the “Swiss” visible on the dial at 6 o'clock.

This “Jumbo” version of the Ellipse is equipped with a mechanical self-winding micro-rotor movement, caliber 240, which made its debut in this model, reference 3738, in 1977, nine years after the launch of the collection.

This was the first self-winding generation to introduce the legendary micro-rotor caliber 240. A true horological feat, this Manufacture caliber preserves the case's unequalled slenderness while providing a power reserve of around 45 hours.

Inspired by the Nautilus model and its famous octagonal bezel, the Aquanaut appeared in **1997** with reference 5060A to appeal to a younger audience with a more casual approach to luxury, and was the brand's first model to be fitted with a rubber strap. 

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A was introduced in 2007 for the model's 10th anniversary. Its **40.8** mm diameter and 8.1 mm thickness, combined with the rubber strap, guarantee a perfect, comfortable fit on the wrist.
The grey/black embossed dial, and the black strap that echoes the checkerboard pattern of the dial, make this model the perfect balance between sporty and elegant.

Equipped with the Patek Philippe 26-330 S C automatic movement, this caliber has a maximum power reserve of **45h** and can be viewed through the transparent caseback.

Rolex

The Rolex Cosmograph was launched in 1963 for racing drivers, and the word “Daytona” appeared a year later when Rolex became the sponsor of the Daytona 24-hour race in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Introduced in 2004, the reference takes up the proportions of the 116520 steel model, with a case slightly revised at the lugs, as is the case for the gold versions, and features a silver-gray dial with applied black Arabic numerals. The black sub-dials feature red numerals and hands reminiscent of the “Daytona” inscription, as well as the central chronograph seconds hand, creating an interesting contrast and ensuring good legibility. Made in white gold, this model weighs 200g with all links.

Equipped with caliber 4130, this movement offers a 72-hour power reserve, a 44% increase over the previous generation. This evolution is made possible by the enlargement of the main spring, thanks to the use of a single chronograph module that frees up space.

This watch is delivered with its box, outer-box, original Rolex warranty dated 2007 (code France), manuals, calendar, tag and bezel protector.
