The first Royal Oak Chronograph appeared in 1997 for the 25th Royal Oak Anniversary and was equipped with the thinnest automatic chronograph movement for the era.

Folding Clasp

This model appeared in 1997 for the 25th Royal Oak Anniversary. In a 39mm case like the iconic Jumbo model, it is equipped with 2385 caliber, the thinnest automatic chronograph movement for the era.
First series were fitted with “Petite Tapisserie” dial and then replaced by “Grande Tapisserie” ones in early 2000.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was first launched in 1972 with the ref.5402, designed by one of the most prolific watch designer, Gerald Genta. The famous octagonal bezel with its 8 white gold screws, the “Tapisserie” dial and integrated steel bracelet makes undoubtedly one of the most iconic watch and a cornerstone of Audemars Piguet. For the **50th anniversary** of the model, Audemars Piguet decided to launched a whole new serie of Royal Oak and our present example is one of them. It is a stainless steel 41mm case equipped with new caliber 4401 with a flyback chronograph featuring the very sought-after blue dial.

The watch comes as a full set with its box, outer-box, Audemars Piguet international warranty card, original booklets.

The Chronograph model appeared in 1997 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Royal Oak. With a diameter of 39 mm like the iconic "Jumbo", it is equipped with the caliber 2385, the thinest automatic chronograph movement at the time.

It takes its nickname from the famous Russian chess player Garry Kasparov who regularly wore the steel version of this watch.

The specific model here is part of a very rare series of only **25 pieces** released in 2002 and made for the Parisian retailer **Dubail**. Its case and bracelet are made of steel, and features a grey dial with black sub-counters and **square indexes** that are usually reserved for models made of precious alloys. The **platinum bezel** has a fully polished finish. The inscription on the back of the case specifies the serial number XX/25 and mentions "Lunette en platine" (platinum bezel in french). The caliber 2385 is visible through a transparent case back allowing to see the oscillating weight **personalized** for Dubail.

The watch is delivered with its box, outer-box, extract from the archives and complete Audemars Piguet service invoice of 2022.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was launched in 1972 with the reference 5402, designed by one of the most prolific designers in the watch industry, Gérald Genta. 

For the 50th anniversary of the model, Audemars Piguet decided to launch a new series of the Royal Oak collection and the example we have here is one of them. It is a steel model of 38mm in diameter has a cloud blue dial and is equipped with the brand new caliber 2385.

The design and proportions of this new series have been slightly reworked, the polished bevels have been enlarged on the bezel and bracelet and the new logo is now applied, creating a very successful ensemble. 

The watch comes complete with box, over box, international warranty card and user manual.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was launched in 1972 with reference 5402, designed by one of the watch industry's most prolific designers, Gérald Genta. 

In 2012, to mark the model's 40th anniversary, Audemars Piguet updated the Royal Oak collection and the Chronograph model underwent several improvements, including a new dial with thinner and longer hour-markers, a return to a slightly smaller tapestry, and above all a larger case measuring 41 mm compared to 39 mm for the previous generation.

Beyond these modifications, the model presented here is a limited edition produced in 2015 in collaboration with the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak QEII Cup, which commemorates the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup horse race. Audemars Piguet has sponsored this race since 1999.

This limited edition of **200** pieces features two important elements: a **rubber** bracelet and a **titanium** case. The advantage of using titanium for the case is to create a lightweight watch that is perfectly balanced in terms of weight thanks to the rubber strap and perfectly balanced in terms of colour with the choice of grey. This model is part of the first 20 pieces made.

Behind the two-tone grey and white dial is the calibre 2385, an integrated self-winding chronograph movement with a 40-hour power reserve.

The watch comes with its Audemars Piguet QE II Cup case, outer box, certificate of origin (date of sale 2015) and manual.
