Breguet has a central place in the watchmaking history with several major innovations, including a reliable system of an oscillating weight "à secousses" which responded to the wearer’s movements in 1780, the over-coil hairspring and the tourbillon patented in 1801 amongst others.

The Marine collection was introduced in 1990 but the model 5817 was launched in 2005, with a new sporty design yet still elegant. It features a 39mm stainless steel fluted case, a rubber strap - an innovation for the brand - as well a new large date, Breguet hands, a hand made guilloché dial and applied numerals.

This model is powered by the self-winding movement 517GG. Based on the Frédéric Piguet caliber 1150, it features a beautiful 18-karat guilloché oscillating weight, Geneva stripes and has a 65-hour power reserve.

The watch comes as with its box, outer-box, Breguet certificate of origin and user manual.
