Among the many innovations developed by the Manufacture (De Bethune balance spring, triple pare-chute system, 6-day power reserve), we find the famous mobile cradles around the case allowing the watch to adapt to all wrists.

De Bethune was founded in 2002 by David Zanetta, an Italian collector, and Denis Flageollet, a fourth-generation watchmaker, who started from scratch to write their own story.

While the first De Bethune models were traditional and conventional in design, today's models are bolder and more avant-garde.

In 2023, De Bethune unveiled the DB28 XS, an essentially smaller and more wearable version of the DB28.

The case, made of titanium, measures 38.7 mm wide (43.3 mm with hoops) and just 7.4 mm thick, and features the characteristic recessed hoops that allow the watch to sit easily on the wrist. 

As with many DB models, the dial is a very important part of the watch and, for the DB28 XS, the dial features a ‘random guilloché’ pattern (which De Bethune says is a world first) and is finished with a series of white gold ‘stars’ that appear to float on the surface. Hence the name Starry Seas.

This type of dial, recognisable and much appreciated, is in line with the DB28 Starry Sky or the DB25 Starry Varius.
The watch is also equipped with the DB2005 hand-wound mechanical calibre, which has a 6-day power reserve and numerous innovations patented by De Bethune.

The watch is delivered as a complete set with its book-shaped case, travel pouch, certificate of origin and manual.

Although the manufacture's first models had a traditional and conventional design, the current ones are more daring and very avant-garde.

Unveiled in 2020, the De Bethune DB28 XP Starry Sky is the most poetic and refined expression of Denis Flageollet's vision of watchmaking. This creation combines the brand's technical virtuosity with a contemporary interpretation of the starry sky, an iconic theme for De Bethune since its inception.

Its 43 mm grade 5 titanium case is only 7.2 mm thick, an engineering feat for a hand-wound watch. The mobile lugs, a signature feature of the DB28 collection, ensure exceptional comfort and a perfect fit on the wrist, while emphasizing the lightness of the whole.

The mirror-polished titanium dial evokes the depth of the night sky, punctuated with white gold micro-inlays representing stars. The brand's characteristic delta hands stand out elegantly against this celestial backdrop.

The watch is powered by the DB2115v7 caliber, a hand-wound movement entirely developed and decorated by hand in the workshops of L'Auberson. Equipped with a titanium and white gold balance wheel with a De Bethune flat terminal curve hairspring, it offers a 6-day power reserve thanks to a double self-regulating barrel.

Only 45 examples of this model were produced.
