The model here is one of the current collection which differs from the previous one discontinued in 2015 with a slight dial design change, its larger date aperture and applied numbers. Introduced in 2011 and available in 40mm, the Octa UTC is equipped with caliber Octa 1300.3. This caliber launched in 2001, after 3 years of research and development, was designed with a "simple" idea in mind : to give the best possible degree of precision and autonomy on a wristwatch.
The famous aesthetic of F.P. Journe dials are present with the off-center hours, minutes and small seconds at 3 o'clock. Furthermore the dial features a large date, a power reserve and a dial with the earth divided in time zones. This specific model features a special serial number, making this watch the 100th platinum Octa UTC produced.

Few models can claim to represent the Manufacture F.P. Journe as well as the Octa Réserve de Marche. It is in fact the first automatic model and one of Journe's founding models, along with the Tourbillon Souverain and the Chronomètre à Résonance, which was at the origin of a large number of models that appeared in the following years.

The Octa movement appeared in 2001, with the 'simple' idea of achieving the best possible degree of precision and autonomy for a wristwatch. This calibre, manufactured in rhodium-plated brass from 2001 to 2004/2005, ensures chronometric precision for 120 hours or 5 days and has an effective power reserve of 160 hours. A feat for its time, it has since required only 2 evolutions, and François-Paul Journe has declared that this calibre has "almost unreal performance".

Around 2,000 examples of this brass calibre have been produced, all ranges combined, and all were manufactured exclusively between 2001 and 2004/2005.

Manufactured in 2002, this model has a 38mm platinum case and a lightly textured yellow gold dial whose colour varies according to exposure to the sun. The sub-dial at 3 o'clock, the signature of most F.P. Journe watches, is in silver with a guilloché finish and displays the hours, minutes and small seconds. The hands, so characteristic of F.P. Journe, form a perfect contrast with the dial. The large date is visible at 11 o'clock and the power reserve at 7.30 o'clock. The whole, 10.6 mm thick, is perfectly harmonious and balanced.

This model, which is no longer in production, is a highly coveted collector's item.

The watch comes with its original box, outer-box and F.P. Journe guarantee card (date of sale 08/2003).
