The Nautilus is one of the best known models from Patek Philippe. Designed by Gérald Genta who, among other things, designed the Royal Oak for Audemars Piguet, the first Nautilus reference 3700 model was introduced in 1976 and was the Manufacture's first sports luxury watch in steel.

Nicknamed “Jumbo” thanks to its imposing diameter of 42 mm for the time, this model had a difficult start and was declined over the years with different materials and dials and in smaller diameters a few years later.

Its distinctive case, with its porthole-shaped sides and octagonal bezel, like the bracelet, are characteristic elements of the Nautilus.

The Nautilus model reference 5711 was introduced in 2006 for the 30th anniversary of the collection. With a design similar to its predecessor, the 40mm-diameter steel case is a modern interpretation of the Nautilus case designed by Gérald Genta, with a 3-part construction, a sapphire case back and now curved “ears”.

This model, through its design, its proportions and its finishes, represents a perfect balance between sport and elegance. The white dial, available from 2012 to 2020, features black hands and indexes with a circled date window at 3 o'clock.

Equipped with the 324 SC caliber introduced in mid-2008, this self-winding movement has the Geneva hallmark and a 45-hour power reserve.

The watch is delivered "full set" with its box, outer-box, Patek Philippe certificate of origin from 2012 (dated June 12, 2012 - Bucherer Germany), document holder, manuals and service invoice from 2021.
