The Rolex Cosmograph was launched in 1963 for racing drivers, and the words "Daytona" appeared a year later when Rolex became the sponsor of the Daytona 24-hour race in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Introduced in 2013, reference 116506 was unveiled to mark the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Daytona. The model takes up the proportions of the 116500LN steel model, with a slightly revised case at the lugs, as is the case for the gold versions, but features an "Ice Blue" dial with a brown ceramic bezel. Ceramic, known for its scratch resistance and durability, aligns perfectly with Rolex's vision of constantly improving the robustness of its watches. Made of platinum, whose density is 30% higher than 18-carat gold, this model weighs 280g with all links.

Equipped with caliber 4130, this movement offers a 72-hour power reserve, a 44% increase over the previous generation. This evolution is made possible by the enlargement of the main spring, thanks to the use of a single chronograph module that frees up space.

This watch is delivered with its box, over-box, original Rolex warranty (01/2023), manuals and tags.
