The Audemars Piguet “Cobra” ref. 14585BC is a superb example of the bold design and technical expertise of the 1970s. Crafted in 18-carat white gold, it illustrates a period when the Le Brassus-based company was experimenting with new case shapes and integrated bracelets, while maintaining a remarkable level of craftsmanship.

The nickname “Cobra” comes from the fluidity of its integrated bracelet, whose perfectly articulated links are reminiscent of the scales of the eponymous snake. The watch, which is exceptionally supple and comfortable, breaks away from classic dress watches and fits perfectly with a 26.5 mm wide tonneau-shaped case, alternating between hammered and mirror-polished surfaces.

The midnight blue dial stands out for its “quiet luxury” style: applied diamond hour markers, matching straight diamond-set hands, and a discreet AP logo at 12 o'clock. 

This model is equipped with the ultra-thin hand-wound mechanical caliber ref. 2080, which has a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

This Rolex Datejust 31 ref. 68279 perfectly embodies the discreet and timeless elegance of the Datejust collection. With its 31 mm 18-carat white gold case, fluted bezel, and President bracelet, it combines refinement, comfort, and prestige in a more compact format, ideal for a slender wrist.

Introduced in 1989, the Ref. 68279 is part of the modern Datejust line, while retaining the essence of the model launched in 1945: a date display at 3 o'clock, changing instantly at midnight, and a design with remarkable readability.

This model features a sapphire crystal for greater scratch resistance and a screw-down crown ensuring water resistance to 100 meters, iconic features of the Oyster case. Inside beats the automatic caliber 2135, a movement renowned for its precision and reliability, certified as an Official Chronometer (COSC). This caliber, derived from the legendary 3035, is distinguished by its compact size and remarkable efficiency.

Audemars Piguet was a pioneer in ultra-thin movements. And this model, reference 5273ST, is the perfect example. Made of stainless steel, this watch reflects Audemars Piguet's taste for discreet and refined haute horlogerie, long before the Royal Oak popularized the concept of luxury in steel.

Its 34 mm case with rounded lines illustrates a perfect balance between classicism, modernity, and timelessness. The slimness of the case, only 6.3 mm thick, the straight lugs, and the delicately chamfered bezel highlight the craftsmanship of the Le Brassus manufacture. The silver dial, punctuated with applied baton hour markers and slender blackened steel hands, expresses understated elegance, reinforced by its perfectly symmetrical design.

At the heart of the watch, beneath the screw-down case back, beats the legendary 2120 automatic caliber, one of the most admired movements in fine watchmaking. Designed in 1967, this caliber, barely 2.45 mm thick, was then the world's thinnest self-winding movement with a central rotor, a record it held for several decades. Despite its extreme thinness, it stands out for its exceptional reliability and its rotor mounted on ruby rails, ensuring exemplary precision and fluidity.

Introduced in 1932 with the Ref. 96, the Calatrava collection was designed in the spirit of Bauhaus aesthetics, emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and functionality. It is considered by many to be the most elegant and timeless classic watch ever created, distinguished by its clean dials, elegant hands, and balanced cases. 

Ref. 5196, available from 2004 to 2022, incorporates all the hallmarks of its predecessors with baton hour markers, dauphine hands, small seconds, and thin lugs, but features a 37mm diameter case. The Ref. 5196G has an 18-karat white gold case (hence the designation “G” for white gold ('Or Gris' in French) at Patek Philippe). 

At the heart of the watch is the Calibre 215 PS hand-wound mechanical movement, which offers high precision and a power reserve of 44 hours.

This model embodies the refined and timeless aesthetics of the Calatrava collection, making it the perfect choice for those who appreciate understated elegance.

De Bethune

De Bethune was founded in 2002 by David Zanetta, an Italian collector, and Denis Flageollet, a fourth-generation watchmaker, who truly started from scratch to write their own story.

Although the manufacture's first models had a traditional and conventional design, the current ones are more daring and very avant-garde.

Unveiled in 2020, the De Bethune DB28 XP Starry Sky is the most poetic and refined expression of Denis Flageollet's vision of watchmaking. This creation combines the brand's technical virtuosity with a contemporary interpretation of the starry sky, an iconic theme for De Bethune since its inception.

Its 43 mm grade 5 titanium case is only 7.2 mm thick, an engineering feat for a hand-wound watch. The mobile lugs, a signature feature of the DB28 collection, ensure exceptional comfort and a perfect fit on the wrist, while emphasizing the lightness of the whole.

The mirror-polished titanium dial evokes the depth of the night sky, punctuated with white gold micro-inlays representing stars. The brand's characteristic delta hands stand out elegantly against this celestial backdrop.

The watch is powered by the DB2115v7 caliber, a hand-wound movement entirely developed and decorated by hand in the workshops of L'Auberson. Equipped with a titanium and white gold balance wheel with a De Bethune flat terminal curve hairspring, it offers a 6-day power reserve thanks to a double self-regulating barrel.

Only 45 examples of this model were produced.

Introduced in 1985, the Patek Philippe Calatrava 3919J perfectly embodies the spirit of the collection: purity of lines, balance of proportions, and timeless elegance. It has become one of the most recognizable and enduring references of the Geneva-based watchmaker.

Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the 3919J is distinguished by its “Clous de Paris” guilloché bezel, a refined detail that has become an aesthetic signature of Patek Philippe. Its 33.5 mm case has a slim and harmonious silhouette, perfectly suited for everyday wear as well as evening attire.
