Introduced in 1968, the Ellipse owes its design to no coincidence, since it is based on the golden ratio, considered the “divine proportion” found in nature and in the greatest works of architecture and art. 

Manufactured by dial-maker Singer for Patek Philippe, the dials feature an extremely simple yet striking contrast between the rose gold hour-markers and hands, and the brown dial with its sunray finish.

Our example is fitted with an MK4 dial, recognizable by the domed hour-markers and hands and the “Swiss” visible on the dial at 6 o'clock. 

This “Jumbo” version of the Ellipse is equipped with a mechanical self-winding micro-rotor movement, caliber 240, which made its debut in this model, reference 3738, in 1977, nine years after the launch of the collection.

This was the first self-winding generation to introduce the legendary micro-rotor caliber 240. A true horological feat, this Manufacture caliber preserves a case of unrivalled finesse while providing a power reserve of around 45 hours.

The watch is delivered with its Patek Philippe archive extract and a Patek Philippe overhaul invoice from 2022.

Manufactured by dial-maker Singer for Patek Philippe, the dials feature an extremely simple yet striking contrast between the yellow gold hour-markers and hands and the blue dial with its sunray finish.

Our example is fitted with an MK3 dial, recognizable by the domed hour markers and hands and the “Sigma σ” symbols visible on the dial at 6 o'clock. The “Sigma σ” symbol was introduced in the '70s by L'Association pour la Promotion Industrielle de l'Or (or “APRIOR”) to highlight prestigious manufactures, and thus signifies that the indexes are solid gold.

Cartier

Cartier is undoubtedly one of the most renowned and influential jewelry and watch brands in both fields. 

The Tank is Cartier's most iconic model. Introduced in 1917, but not put on sale until the end of the war in 1919, its design is inspired by a Tank Renault FT-17 seen from above. Certain elements have remained unchanged since its creation: the two vertical stretchers that extend the case and allow integration of the bracelet, the minute track and Roman numerals on the dial, and the sapphire cabochon on the winding crown. 

First introduced in 1921, just two years after the debut of the Tank Louis Cartier, the elegantly elongated Tank Cintrée has always been a recurring presence in the brand's collection. 

This special piece, exclusively reserved for Cartier's valued customers, released in **2021** to celebrate the **100th anniversary** of the Tank Cintrée, was produced in a limited series of just **150** numbered pieces. True to the Cintrée's distinctive design and its heritage as a model made in limited numbers, this special edition confirms its iconic status among Cartier aficionados.

This model, in 18-carat yellow gold, measures 46 mm from lug to lug and 23 mm in width, for an attractive presence on the wrist. All the model's characteristic elements are present here, with the eggshell dial, blued steel Breguet hands and striking elongated black Roman numerals. The vintage-inspired dial dispenses with the “Swiss Made” inscription usually found on current models, and houses the caliber 9780 MC movement, manufactured by Jaeger-LeCoultre, which boasts a 36-hour power reserve.

The Patek Philippe reference 5320G was first introduced in 2017, as the latest chapter in a legacy of great perpetual calendars. 
This specification iteration with a rose gold-colored opaline dial appears in 2022. The watch displays four hands - hours, minutes, and seconds for the time, with the date indicator at six. Overall, the dial layout is extremely legible, elegant and designed perfectly, with two discrete windows showing the leap year and day-and-night indicators, respectively, on each side of the moon.

Inside the watch, the 5320G movement is based on the calibre 324, with centrally-mounted solid-gold rotor. The calibre 324 S Q (’S’ for seconds, ‘Q’ for quantième perpétuel) serves as a refined perpetual calendar version of the self-winding 324.

Inspired by the Nautilus model and its famous octagonal bezel, the Aquanaut appeared in **1997** with reference 5060A to appeal to a younger public with a more casual approach to luxury, and was the brand's first model to be fitted with a rubber strap. 

Reference 5066 was introduced in 1998 just one year after the first Aquanaut (ref. 5060A). It retains the same 35.6 mm diameter as its predecessor, but features an open caseback to reveal the 330SC caliber. 

Two generations of dials followed one another: the tritium dials, which are now developing a beautiful patina, were used until 2004, before giving way to the second generation super luminova dials that will equip the model until production of this reference is discontinued in 2006.

Historically manufactured by the Singer dial-maker for Patek Philippe, the dials feature an extremely simple yet striking contrast between the rose gold hour-markers and hands and the black dial with its soleillée finish.

One of the oldest Ellipse references in terms of production is ref. 3738, which was produced from 1978 to around 2009. Today, the only Ellipse in production is ref. 5738, which was introduced in 2008 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ellipse. At the time, it was made in platinum and featured the classic blue gold dial. For the 50th anniversary in 2018, ref. 5738 was released in 18-carat rose gold with a black sunray dial like the model we present here.

The model is still equipped with the legendary 240 micro-rotor caliber. A true horological feat, this manufacture caliber enables the case to be kept with unrivalled finesse, while providing a power reserve of around 45 hours.
