Piaget's catalogue of the past is a true masterpiece of style. The models are not only eye-catching, they also feature textures that can be truly breathtaking when experienced in person. 

Piaget has been famous for its quest for the extra-flat since the 1950s, with the 9P movement unveiled in Geneva in **1957**, which was acclaimed for its thinness at just 2mm thick and its elegance, as well as for its performance and reliability.

The model reference is designated **H24** specifying the type of finishing on the case and bracelet.

This model, dating from 1969, features a superb dial paved with **165** brilliant-cut diamonds. The "Clou de Paris" decorative motif on the case and bracelet consists of small pyramid-shaped reliefs.

Moreover, given the complexity of the craftsmanship involved in creating these bracelets, reproducing these pieces today would entail substantial costs for manufacturers.

This watch comes with a 2024 Piaget Service Invoice (2-year warranty) and a Piaget travel case.

The Datejust was the first self-winding watch to show the date in a window on the dial that jumps out instantly at midnight to ensure that the date is “right” at all times. With its timeless design, perfect time legibility, date window and self-winding movement, this model has remained one of the most popular Rolex watches since its launch in 1945.

The Lady-Datejust model was introduced in 1957. It features all the characteristics of the Datejust model in 36mm, while its 26mm-diameter case makes it particularly suitable for slim wrists.

This **1991** model features a rare dial paved with diamonds and sapphires, a particularly attractive combination. The crystal, with a cyclops lens at 3 o'clock for easy date reading, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire, and the three-link President bracelet features a Crownclasp clasp.

Beneath the dial is caliber 2135, with stop seconds for precise time setting, and a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

Launched in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to simultaneously display the day of the week and the date in separate windows on the dial. Rolex has never concealed its association with influential personalities, including many heads of state, earning this model the nickname “President”.

Reference 18296, produced from 1989 onwards, is one of the most prestigious variations of the Day-Date, made exclusively in platinum. With a diameter of 36 mm, it is distinguished by its diamond-set lugs - a detail that further accentuates its luxurious and exclusive character, and contrasts with the simplicity of the smooth bezel.

Unlike previous generations, this model is equipped with caliber 3155. This automatic movement incorporates a quick-change day and date function via the crown, a major evolution in terms of user comfort. It offers a power reserve of around 48 hours and is chronometer-certified.

The dial of this model may vary from version to version, but it is often offered with precious finishes: diamond hour markers, mother-of-pearl or fine stone dials, and day displays available in several languages, in keeping with Day-Date tradition. This particular model features a dial with diamond hour-markers. Note that dials for platinum models feature larger diamonds than those for gold models. The day display is in English, the most commonly chosen language worldwide.

The **President** bracelet, a signature of the collection since 1956, is a natural accompaniment to this reference. Also in platinum, it features a folding clasp with invisible buckle, offering excellent comfort and a refined aesthetic.

The Rolex Day-Date 18296 is thus an emblematic and particularly refined watch, combining prestige, technical innovation and horological excellence.

Audemars Piguet

Introduced in 1972, the first Royal Oak ref. 5402 was designed by one of the most prolific watchmakers, Gerald Genta. Inspired by a diving helmet and designed in a single night, this model was unprecedented at the time: a 39 mm steel case that earned it the nickname “Jumbo” and an impressive price tag of CHF 3,750, more than ten times the price of a Rolex Submariner.

Alongside the production of the iconic Royal Oak, a smaller version of this watch was launched around 1976/1977, the Ref. 4100, featuring a 36 mm case and an automatic movement. Quartz movements were extremely popular at the time, so it was only natural that Audemars Piguet got involved, creating new lines with references 6001 and 6005 in particular.

It wasn't until 1980 that a “real” Royal Oak was equipped with a quartz movement, and the collection grew to include at least 59 models, reaching a peak in 1986 when quartz movements accounted for half of the watches produced by Audemars Piguet.

The model we have here, reference 56175BA, has a 33mm yellow gold case that is only 5.7mm thick. Its rhodium-gray “Petite Tapisserie” dial displays the date in an opening at 3 o'clock. The octagonal shape of the case and the integrated bracelet make the watch appear larger than its dimensions would suggest, while retaining the proportions of its iconic original design. 

This model is equipped with the ultra-thin 2612 quartz caliber.

Launched in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to display both the day and date through an opening in the dial. Rolex has never shied away from being associated with influential figures, including a number of presidents, which is how this model got its nickname.

With a diameter of 36mm, the reference 1803 was produced from the early 1960s to 1977. It is the first generation of Day-Date watches to have been in production for over 15 years. The main feature of this model is its domed “pie-pan” dial and domed plexiglass crystal. 

On our model, the dial only has the word “Swiss” at 6 o'clock and cigarettes hands, typical of the early series, which makes the model particularly interesting and all the more rare. 

The Rolex 1555 caliber has a power reserve of approximately 42 hours and is not equipped with the quick date setting system on the crown, a feature that appeared with the following reference 18038 and the 3055 caliber.

The “President” bracelet appeared when this model was launched in 1956. This model is also equipped with a deployant buckle with a clasp, an option available at the time, which was less expensive than the version with an invisible clasp.

Audemars Piguet was a pioneer in ultra-thin movements. And this model, reference 5273ST, is the perfect example. Made of stainless steel, this watch reflects Audemars Piguet's taste for discreet and refined haute horlogerie, long before the Royal Oak popularized the concept of luxury in steel.

Its 34 mm case with rounded lines illustrates a perfect balance between classicism, modernity, and timelessness. The slimness of the case, only 6.3 mm thick, the straight lugs, and the delicately chamfered bezel highlight the craftsmanship of the Le Brassus manufacture. The silver dial, punctuated with applied baton hour markers and slender blackened steel hands, expresses understated elegance, reinforced by its perfectly symmetrical design.

At the heart of the watch, beneath the screw-down case back, beats the legendary 2120 automatic caliber, one of the most admired movements in fine watchmaking. Designed in 1967, this caliber, barely 2.45 mm thick, was then the world's thinnest self-winding movement with a central rotor, a record it held for several decades. Despite its extreme thinness, it stands out for its exceptional reliability and its rotor mounted on ruby rails, ensuring exemplary precision and fluidity.

Patek Philippe

The Patek Philippe Calatrava 2525 is one of the most accomplished interpretations of the elegant, architectural style developed by the manufacturer in the mid-1950s. Introduced in 1953, it stands out for its construction, which was rare for the time: a concave bezel, a crown integrated into the case, and above all, faceted and sculpted lugs, the signature feature of cases made by Wenger (key no. 1). Measuring 36 mm in diameter and only X mm thick, it embodied a modern aesthetic for its time and remains one of the most sought-after vintage Calatravas today.

The first series, produced in very small quantities, is recognizable by its clipped case back, which was replaced a few years later by a screw-down case back to improve water resistance. However, all share the same refined construction, and only about thirty examples have been recorded, all configurations combined.

The dial, manufactured by Stern Frères, features faceted dagger-shaped applied hour markers, the number 12 applied at 12 o'clock, and a small seconds dial at 6 o'clock. The inscriptions, hand-engraved and then enamelled in black, are perfectly visible and raised, symbolizing the craftsmanship excellence of those years. The dauphine hands provide a subtle balance, typical of Patek Philippe models from the 1950s. 

The watch is powered by the manual caliber 10-200, an ultra-thin movement bearing the Poinçon de Genève, renowned for its precision and quality of finish.

The Tank Louis ref. 96065, introduced in the 1980s, replaced the previous ref. 78086 and was a direct descendant of the Tank known as the “Louis Cartier.” 
The white enamel color dial of the previous generation was replaced by a guilloché decoration. All the other characteristic features were retained: elongated Roman numerals, a minute track, blued hands and the classic crown adorned with a blue cabochon. The rectangular case, made of yellow gold, has balanced and highly refined proportions, measuring 23 × 30 mm, in the grand tradition of Cartier's ultra-thin city watches.

This ‘ultra-thin’ model is equipped with the Cartier 96 caliber, a derivative of the Frédéric Piguet Cal. 21 caliber, which allows for a case thickness of only 4.2 mm. It is also one of the ‘Pre-CPCP’ models produced before the launch of the ‘Cartier Paris Collection Privée’ in 1998. This collection revisits Cartier's archives, bringing back into fashion historic models that had been overlooked for years, from the Tortue to the Tank Basculante.
Models prior to the CPCP do not bear the word “Paris” under the Cartier signature at 12 o'clock and feature the signature “Swiss Made” at 6 o'clock instead of “Swiss.”

While the Cartier Tank Collection Privée models are more famous, this 96065 is a lesser-known model that laid the foundations for this collection, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the historic Tank watches.

The Rolex Cosmograph was launched in 1963 for racing drivers, and the “Daytona” signature appeared a year later when Rolex became a sponsor of the 24 Hours of Daytona race in Daytona Beach, Florida. 

As for the model presented here, the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 16520 was launched in **1988**, completely redesigned from its predecessor with a larger 40 mm case and a sapphire crystal that increased its water resistance to **100** meters. At that time, it became Rolex's first automatic chronograph with the caliber 4030. It is interesting to note that the automatic movement does not come from Rolex but is based on Zenith's famous El Primero caliber, originally designed in 1969 after a race between several manufacturers to design the very first automatic chronograph movement. Rolex modified the movement to, among other things, increase the power reserve and lower the frequency.

This particular example belongs to the “**A series**” from **1999** and features a **Luminova** dial, which is consistent with the late production of this reference. 

To top it all off, this watch comes in NOS (New Old Stock) condition with a **complete** set including its box, outer box, original Rolex warranty, warranty manual, manual, card holder, and tags.

The first Rolex with a second time zone was launched in 1954 under the reference Rolex GMT-Master 6542. This watch was developed in collaboration with the American airline Pan Am to meet the needs of pilots who crossed several time zones in a single trip.

Unveiled in 1981, the reference 16750 had a short production run of eight years, making it much rarer than the reference 1675, which was produced for 20 years. The distinctive feature of this reference is the quick date adjustment, an important function made possible by the introduction of the new caliber 3075. 

The term “transitional” used for this model comes from the significant variations in the dial that occurred throughout its production: matte to glossy dials.
The early versions, as seen here, have the same matte dial as the later 1675s, a black dial with tritium-painted hour markers and the text “Oyster Perpetual” under “Rolex.” 
Around 1984/85 and for a short period, a glossy dark black dial appeared with applied white gold hour markers and the text “Oyster Perpetual” under “Rolex.” 
Shortly thereafter, the same glossy dial featured the word “Date” in the text “Oyster Perpetual Date” under “Rolex,” as on modern versions of the GMT collection.

Matte dials were often replaced with glossy dials during servicing, making them all the more rare.

Introduced in 1945, the Rolex Datejust marked a major milestone in watchmaking history by becoming the first automatic wristwatch to display the date in a window that changes instantly at midnight. 

Available in a variety of sizes and configurations over the years, the reference 6824 is part of the 31 mm Datejust line, an intermediate size particularly appreciated for its harmonious proportions, reflecting the classic Rolex aesthetic of the period.

The 31 mm yellow gold Oyster case offers a refined presence on the wrist, while retaining the sporty and robust DNA unique to Rolex. It is paired with a smooth bezel, emphasizing the purity of the design, and a riveted yellow gold bracelet, characteristic of older models. This type of bracelet, recognizable by its riveted sides, gives the watch a historical charm that is highly sought after by collectors.

The dial, with its exemplary legibility, features applied gold hour markers, complemented by the famous date window at 3 o'clock, topped with a Cyclops lens. The whole perfectly illustrates the versatile nature of the Datejust, which is equally at home in formal and everyday settings.

Introduced in 1972, the first Royal Oak ref. 5402 was designed by one of the most prolific watchmakers, Gerald Genta. Inspired by a diving helmet and designed in a single night, this model was unprecedented at the time: a 39 mm steel case that earned it the nickname “Jumbo” and an impressive price tag of CHF 3,750, more than ten times the price of a Rolex Submariner.

Alongside the production of the iconic Royal Oak, a smaller version of this watch was launched in 1976, the Ref. 4100, the first “mid-size” Royal Oak, with a 35 mm case, offering a more versatile alternative better suited to a wider range of wrists, while retaining the aesthetic DNA of the original model.

The Ref. 4100BA stands out with its 18-karat yellow gold case and bracelet, giving the Royal Oak a decidedly luxurious interpretation for a watch historically designed as a steel sports watch. The octagonal case and integrated bracelet amplify its presence on the wrist, giving the watch a more imposing stature than its dimensions suggest.

This example, manufactured in 1983, features a rare matte gold-colored small tapestry dial, in keeping with the era, and is equipped with the automatic caliber 2123, which has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours and a stop-second mechanism for precise adjustment.

The watch comes with its Audemars Piguet archive extract and has a notable provenance, having been presented at auction at Christie's in May 2022.

Created in 1917 and launched two years later, the Cartier Tank has established itself as one of the most influential watch designs of the 20th century. Inspired by the silhouette of the Renault FT-17 tank, it has stood the test of time, becoming the timepiece of choice for cultural icons such as Princess Diana, Muhammad Ali, and Andy Warhol.

The model we have here is a direct descendant of the Tank known as the ‘Louis Cartier’ and adopts the purest aesthetic of the Tank Louis: a white enamel dial with elongated Roman numerals, a minute track, blued hands, and the classic crown adorned with a blue cabochon. At 6 o'clock, each dial bears the inscription “Swiss” or “Paris.” Those bearing the inscription ‘Swiss’ were sold in the Cartier branch in New York, while those bearing the inscription “Paris” were sold in London and Paris. The rectangular case, made of yellow gold, has balanced and very refined proportions, measuring 23 × 30 mm, in the grand tradition of Cartier's ultra-thin city watches.

The watch is powered by an ultra-thin hand-wound mechanical movement, the P838 caliber, launched in 1962 by Jaeger-LeCoultre and used in Cartier Tank ultra-thin dress watches before being replaced by the ultra-thin 96 caliber movements (based on Piguet 21) in the 1980s and 1990s for ultra-thin versions such as reference [96065](https://geneva.41watch.com/catalogue/cartier/tank/2124-tank-louis-96065-pre-cpcp).

Comes with its original Cartier folding clasp and a Cartier box.

Introduced in 1956, it was the first wristwatch to display both the date and the day of the week in a window on the dial. Made exclusively from precious metals, it has always been synonymous with luxury, elegance and prestige.

With a diameter of 36mm, reference 18028 was produced between 1978 and 1989. This model, with its **smooth bezel**, is particularly rare. A wide variety of dial configurations were offered at the time, including some in semi-precious stone or wood, but all were now flat, unlike the domed dials present on the older reference 1803. Others were equipped with highly colored lacquered dials, the famous “**Stella**” dials. 

The name comes from a company called Stella, which supplied Rolex dialmakers with the special lacquer and gloss pigment used to make these dials. As these dials were produced over several decades, the colors and shades vary considerably. The example we have is bright red, creating a superb contrast with the yellow gold case.

Over the course of production, 4 types of dial have been produced, and the model we have here features a **4th** and last **generation** dial, recognizable by the chemin de fer minute track with Roman numerals signalling every five minutes.

The 2 most useful improvements for this reference were the addition of a sapphire crystal to guarantee greater water-resistance, and the quick date-setting function via the crown. This technical advance was made possible by the new 3055 caliber, replacing the 1555 caliber used in the previous generation.

As soon as this model was released, Rolex offered a choice of 25 different languages for the day display, English being the most common, but our model also features Italian.

This watch comes with its box, original warranty, card holder and manuals.

Launched in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to display both the day and date through an opening in the dial. Rolex has never shied away from being associated with influential figures, including a number of presidents, which is how this model earned its nickname.

With a diameter of 36mm, the reference 1803 was produced from the early 1960s to 1977. It is the first generation of Day-Date watches to have been in production for over 15 years. The main feature of this model is its domed “pie-pan” dial and domed plexiglass crystal. This brown dial, nicknamed “Ghost Cappuccino” or “Ghost Caramel,” is particularly rare because the inscriptions on it disappear depending on the angle of the light.

The Rolex caliber 1555 has a power reserve of approximately 42 hours and is not equipped with the quick date setting system on the crown, a feature that appeared with the following reference 18038 and caliber 3055.
